Multifinance will continue to maintain the NPF in the second quarter of 2021

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. Entering the second quarter of 2021, finance companies began to record an increase in new financing. This has an effect on the company's efforts to maintain the quality of problematic financing or better known as Non-Performing Financing (NPF) so as not to swell.

Until the first quarter of 2021, OJK noted that the NPF of finance companies has continued to improve since the beginning of the year to reach the level of 3.74% although it has not improved in the same period in the previous year which was at the level of 2.8%.

Entering the second quarter of this year, it seems that the NPF of several multi-finance companies is still unstable. Several companies are still experiencing an increase in their NPF amidst efforts to tighten the increase.

Take, for example, PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Tbk (Adira Finance) which until now has an NPF of 3% which is relatively the same as the same period last year.

However, this figure is still increasing when compared to the position at the beginning of the year with a relatively better NPF at the level of 1.9%.

"Part of the increase in NPF reflects unfavorable business conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic," said Finance Director of Adira Finance I Dewa Made Susila to Kontan.co.id.

In addition, Made also revealed that the increase in NPF was also influenced by accounts that had been restructured to help consumers. It should be noted, that until now, Adira Finance has restructured loans amounting to Rp 18.9 trillion.

"We remain focused on maintaining the quality of ex-covid restructuring assets and acquiring quality new financing," added Made.

Meanwhile, BCA Finance had an NPF of 1.95%. This figure is considered to be much better than last May. It's just that, when compared to the beginning of this year this figure is still increasing.

“I don't remember the exact position in January, but it's still under 1%. There is indeed an increase, because the current period has just passed a long vacation, ”said BCA Finance President Director Roni Haslim.

Industry wise, the Chairman of the Indonesian Financing Companies Association (APPI) Suwandi Wiratno is optimistic that the NPF of this multi-finance company will continue to decline in the second quarter of 2021.

He assessed that several companies have started to select strictly in extending credit to customers for checking at SLIK.

"We want the NPF industrially to return to the level it was before Covid, which is below 2%," said Suwandi.
