PONTIANAK - The Indonesian Financing Companies Association (APPI) officially launched the 2024 Multifinance Day at GAIA Mall in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Friday, October 11. The event was directly appreciated by the West Kalimantan Provincial Government, represented by the Assistant for Economy and Development of the Regional Secretariat, Ignasius, during the opening.
This event will run from October 11 to 13, 2024, featuring around 31 financing companies operating in West Kalimantan. Ignasius stated that the event aims to provide education, financial literacy, and inclusion within the financing industry.
Additionally, it supports the month of financial inclusion and is part of the national financial literacy program launched by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on August 22, 2024. This aligns with the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) 2024 program, aimed at accelerating the use of non-bank financial service products tailored to community needs. “This activity also specifically supports financial literacy and business matching programs targeting 12 initiatives,” he noted.
With the 2024 Multifinance Day involving 31 financing companies, he emphasized that the event is not only about selling financing products but also includes education and literacy to help the public avoid illegal loans and high interest rates. “They will provide comprehensive explanations, including good financial planning, to prevent penalties,” he added.
At the same event, APPI Chairman Suwandi Wiranto mentioned that a total of 31 financing companies are participating in the 8th Multifinance Day in Pontianak. The activity aims to educate the public on understanding the process of taking out loans. Suwandi stressed the importance of knowing who to borrow from and ensuring that the lending company is trustworthy. “Our goal is to enhance financial literacy so that before borrowing, individuals think carefully and discuss with lending companies that match their financial capabilities,” he concluded.
Through Multifinance Day, participants from APPI-member financing companies will not only introduce their financing products but also provide education on the financing industry, proper financial planning, and share success stories of their debtors. They will also educate attendees on the importance of safeguarding personal data.
These activities will be packaged in various formats, including Product Knowledge sessions, Multifinance sessions, and other engaging events. Additionally, there will be CSR activities such as blood donation drives and community involvement events like coloring contests and fashion shows.
Multifinance Day will also feature attractive programs from financing companies, including special discounts, installment plans with low interest rates, instant prizes, and other enticing offers.
